Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN School Teacher to join our supportive team in Solihull. This full-time, long-term role begins after the Easter break and will continue until the end of the academic year 2026. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering personalised education that aligns with the school’s ethos of fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment where every learner can thrive. Planning is included within the role, and the Teacher must be flexible to support students across Years 1 to 7/8, predominantly within the lower school. Experience with severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism spectrum condition (ASC), and managing challenging behaviours is essential to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SLD, ASC, and challenging behaviours, ensuring the curriculum is accessible and engaging.
- Support students primarily within the lower school, providing 1:1 and small group support to promote their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting across Years 1 to 7/8 as required, adapting teaching strategies to suit different age groups and abilities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s approach, promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with the wider school team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals, to support holistic student development.
- Contribute to the planning, assessment, and review of individual education plans (IEPs) and progress reports.
- Uphold the school’s ethos of respect, kindness, and high expectations, fostering a nurturing environment where all learners feel valued and supported.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and school policies.
