**Contract type:** Full-time | 8 hours per day Monday to Friday between 8.15am and 4.45pm, specific hours to be agreed upon offer
On Track Education in Totnes is an independent special school registered for 48 full-time pupils aged 11 - 19. It caters for pupils with a range of complex needs including behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties and autism. The school opened in 2005 and was last inspected by Ofsted in November 2022, receiving judgements of ‘good’ in all categories.
The main school site has facilities to deliver a wide-ranging curriculum comprising academic and vocational programmes. The school takes a wholly positive approach to behaviour management and supports a culture of tolerance and respect. The successful applicant will be supported by the Head Teacher and Leadership Team and will be required to work across school sites and on an outreach basis.

- Plan, deliver, and evidence parts of individual learning programmes
- Maintain awareness of safeguarding and make it a priority
- Implement strategies to support pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Act as keyworker to young people and ensure they can access support in their lives
- Encourage the development of strategies for young people to manage behaviour
- Create and maintain a purposeful and supportive environment for pupils
- Maintain accurate records and attend multi-agency meetings when needed
- Model positive behaviour and encourage children and young people to interact positively
- Promote self-esteem and independence
- Attend team meetings as required
- Transport children and young people in your own car, insured for business use
**Requirements:**
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent
- Experience working with children and young people with special needs
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Good general standard of education (GCSE Grade 4 in English and Maths or equivalent)
- A willingness to participate in training where learning needs are identified
