Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated, passionate, and creative KS2 Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to pupils in Key Stage 2, ensuring that they make excellent progress in all areas of their learning. You will play a key role in shaping the educational journey of students, fostering a love of learning while supporting their spiritual and personal growth in line with Catholic values.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for pupils in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) in line with the National Curriculum.
Use a variety of teaching methods to inspire, challenge, and motivate pupils, ensuring lessons are accessible to all learning styles and abilities.
Regularly assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback, and set clear targets to support individual learning needs.
Monitor and track pupil attainment and progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
Create and maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and fostering independence.
Catholic Ethos and Pastoral Care:
Promote and uphold the Catholic ethos of the school, integrating Catholic values and teachings into lessons and daily interactions.
Support the spiritual, moral, and emotional development of all students, encouraging them to live out the values of love, kindness, and respect.
Be responsible for the pastoral care of students within your class, ensuring their well-being and offering support when needed.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work closely with colleagues to develop and deliver a cohesive and exciting curriculum across the Key Stage 2 phase.
Contribute to school-wide events, assemblies, and other extracurricular activities that enrich the students’ educational experience.
Communicate effectively with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and holding parent-teacher meetings as needed.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development, actively participating in training, workshops, and staff meetings to continually enhance teaching practices.
Reflect on your teaching and make improvements to your methods based on feedback and new educational insights.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A thorough understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects.
Ability to create and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
Excellent classroom management skills, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour and discipline.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education, integrating these into daily practice.
