Summary
Zen Educate is seeking a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to join our school community in Rhondda Cynon Taf. This full-time role is integral to our commitment to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with an understanding of the importance of behaviour support and student wellbeing. The position begins as soon as possible and will continue on a full-time basis, supporting our school's mission to empower learners through compassion, respect, and high expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons that meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring curriculum coverage across Key Stages 3 and 4, with optional involvement in KS5.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes behaviour for learning, aligning with the school's ethos of respect, resilience, and responsibility.
- Develop personalised strategies and differentiate instruction to support students with behavioural and emotional needs, fostering independence and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to implement behaviour management plans and targeted academic interventions.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to encourage growth, confidence, and perseverance.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to support holistic educational outcomes and promote a sense of community.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at fostering inclusion, wellbeing, and a supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, ideally within a mainstream or alternative provision setting.
- Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively, using restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches where appropriate.
- Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
- Experience of implementing behaviour intervention strategies and supporting students with behavioural and emotional difficulties is highly desirable.
