Our Phonics in a Rich Reading Curriculum workshop aims to equip teachers and TAs with the skills and knowledge required to help close the early reading gap, for use in the classroom or in supply work.

Hosted by Vicky Gould (Former Head of Prestolee SCITT & Primary teacher), the workshop explores how to develop knowledge of the alphabetic code, methods of teaching phonics, implications from key research pieces and much more. This workshop is the perfect aid to help you deliver NTP tuition.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the role of word recognition in the Simple View of Reading

  • To develop knowledge of the alphabetic code

  • To explore methods of teaching phonics in a literacy rich environment

  • To reflect on implications from key research pieces.
