A lovely school is looking for a SEN TA who will be based in their ARP. The children within the ARP have complex autism. This is a full time provision - looking at up until the Easter break. Within the ARP, there is a small group of 3 children, of different ages. The group is led by the Teacher, so you would be working closely with the teacher. The children require personal care, so you need to be comfortable with this. The children are predominately non-verbal, so communicate through making sounds and indicating, but they also sometimes due to their frustrations do display behaviours such as smacking, spitting, pinching.
