Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and motivated Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high standard of education for our youngest learners, ensuring they develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. As an EYFS Teacher within a Catholic school, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception).
Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages independent learning, exploration, and curiosity.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
Assess and monitor children’s progress using EYFS assessment frameworks, providing regular feedback to both children and parents.
Develop and implement individual learning plans for children, particularly those requiring additional support or extension activities.
Catholic Ethos and Pastoral Care:
Uphold and promote the Catholic ethos of the school, integrating faith-based teachings and values into everyday learning experiences.
Support the spiritual and moral development of each child, encouraging them to understand and respect Catholic values such as love, compassion, and respect for others.
Ensure that children’s emotional and social needs are met, fostering a caring and inclusive classroom environment.
Build strong relationships with children, helping them to develop confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work closely with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the EYFS, sharing resources, strategies, and best practices.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, ensuring that the needs of all children are met in both whole-class and small group activities.
Liaise regularly with parents and carers to keep them informed of their child’s progress, celebrate achievements, and discuss areas for development.
Participate in school-wide initiatives and events, including mass celebrations, parent evenings, and school trips.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills and stay informed about new developments in EYFS education.
Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school improvement planning.
