For International Women’s Day, join us in combating hygiene poverty by supporting The Hygiene Bank, an impactful community-based charity.
For International Women’s Day, let’s #BreakTheBias
69% of teachers in a recent study agreed that hygiene poverty was a problem for families and children, with millions of women experiencing period and hygiene poverty because they are unable to access or afford essentials.
That’s why we’re supporting The Hygiene Bank, a hopeful charity that works tirelessly to tackle this problem and #BreakTheBias.
Why support The Hygiene Bank?
The Hygiene Bank is a grassroots charity with a clear mission: challenge the reality of hygiene poverty and give people access to the basic products they need so they can confidently participate in society.
“We believe it is not right that feeling clean should be a luxury or a privilege for anyone in our society, yet many are living in poverty and cannot afford to stay clean”
They work with local communities and organisations to raise awareness, collect and distribute products and fundraise to support those that find themselves swept into poverty.
What can you do?
You can visit one of their many drop off points to deliver new, unused personal care and household cleaning essentials. We donated in-demand products for women and people who menstruate for IWD2022, but you can donate a mix of men's, children's and household products:
Period products
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Shower gel
Shampoo
Conditioner
Deodorant
You can donate to your local drop-off point all year round.
You can also make cash donations — we’ve raised £264 for the Brixton branch so far.
